A half-hearted Analysis of the Archetyp IP leak & Archetyp's latest post about...me
In the convoluted world of darknet markets, a certain level of secrecy, covert operations, and obfuscation is expected. However, there is a fine line between discretion and sheer incompetence.
I hope you have as much fun reading this as I did writing it.
In the convoluted world of darknet markets, a certain level of secrecy, covert operations, and obfuscation is expected. However, there is a fine line between discretion and sheer incompetence, and recent interactions with the admins of Archetyp and Drughub markets have shown just how easily some darknet actors manage to cross it. The drug hub admin is covered in a different article.
Let's begin with Archetyp, whose admin, BigBossChefOfArchetyp, recently went on an unhinged rant. He accused "journalist(s)" of misleading people and exaggerating critiques. His passive aggression was aimed at me. He seems to think that spamming clueless comments and making superficial edits on Wikipedia qualifies as credible. Since he was so big on the whole Wikipedia thing, I checked it out, but we will get to that later.
In his tirade, he accused me, passively by saying 'darknet journalist,' of misleading people, exaggerating my critiques, and making "countless" tweets about Archetyp.
For the record, I made exactly eight tweets—hardly the 'countless' number he implied.
Ironically, most of these tweets were positive. Seriously, check them out for yourself.
His entire meltdown was a pathetic attempt to paint himself as a victim when, in reality, he was simply upset because I didn’t cover a particular story he wanted. If that doesn’t scream 'entitled brat,' I don't know what does.

Ironically, he could only muster a handful of unprovable facts to support his claim, Aside from him pointing out the videos that (in fact DO exist!) were done about him that included :
How he oversaw and ran a scam scavenger hunt:
How he threw a tantrum about it for weeks because of it, that alone validated the assertions:
Archetyp isn’t the only one trying to be part of the circus—Drughub’s admin went out of his way to establish himself as the lead clown. While BigBossChefOfArchetyp will make nonsensical points, and try to frame himself as a victim, even leaving dread in the past when another darknet market admin points out an IP leak.
My personal favorite part of the entire post was when he said what his password was:
In my personal opinion, it's a bad password, and I think even an entry level cybersecurity student would agree. Aside from that there were a few other issues in this thread alone:
- Baseless Accusations Against Competitors: YosemiteGhostWrite accuses Alphabay of being a honeypot without providing concrete evidence (it turned out it wasn't it just exit scammed), undermining their own credibility. (Source: "Alphabay is a honeypot.")
- Public Display of Password: YosemiteGhostWrite openly posted their Dread password, undermining their claimed 'focus' on operational security. (Source: "/u/Paris this is my dread password: asashua23z8udaa.")
- He had Multiple Ad Hominem Attacks: YosemiteGhostWrite frequently resorts to insults, such as calling competitors "retarded," which weakens their argument and professionalism (a nonexistent trait in this particular darknet market admin). (Source: "You are retarded and it shows.")
- Inconsistent Claims About IP Leaks: He admits their clearnet IP was leaked but tries to downplay the significance, contradicting their emphasis on security. (Source: "Even though you got the IP of archetyp.cc... archetyp.cc is the smartest thing to do against DDoS.")
- Unsubstantiated Buzzword Critique: Archetyp accuses competitors of using "buzzwords" without substantiating why their own approach is better. (Source: "Retarded ways to shill your market using buzzwords.")
- Defensive and Aggressive Tone: The overall tone in the post comes off as defensive and overly aggressive, which could be critiqued as unprofessional for a market admin. Yet this is the norm. That or playing a professional victim role.
Wikipedia
The wikipeida page does seem to have a crazy history of edits. This is one of the few true things that he has said, that said, I'm not sure why he's mentioning me in regards to it. If I wrote this thing, I would have been MUCH more harsh, just like I was in my videos.
Since he wanted to discuss this topic with me in it, I figured he wanted my input on it. So here it is. The Wikipedia entry for Archetyp Market reads like a poorly veiled attempt to romanticize his own activity. It starts by painting the founder as a victim of circumstance (his literal MO), growing up in a “deprived area” and experimenting with drugs. This backstory feels like an irrelevant sympathy play to distract from the fact that they later created a marketplace that fuels addiction, overdoses, and illegal trade.
He runs the largest darknet market and openly allows fent on the site.
Claiming to have reflected on their “anti-social behavior” and deciding to pursue “social good” is laughable—running a darknet drug market does nothing for the social good unless you define that as enabling fent sales, and illegal activities.
The founder’s nod to Silk Road’s libertarian philosophy is another hollow attempt at justification. Libertarian ideals sound noble on paper, but there’s no evidence Archetyp operated differently from any other profit-driven darknet market. Talking like a libertarian, while acting like a capitalists shows us that he talks about both sides of his mouth. Criticizing competitors for being “focused on profit” is especially hypocritical without proof that Archetyp wasn’t doing the exact same thing. If anything, this baseless claim reeks of moral superiority and self-serving propaganda.
What’s worse is the article’s complete failure to provide balance or alternative perspectives. Relying solely on an interview with tarnkappe.info leaves it one-sided and promotional instead of factual. Where is the acknowledgment of Archetyp’s status or the societal harm caused by its operations?
The founder’s claims about “drug liberalization” are just empty buzzwords meant to distract from the reality: they run a dangerous, illegal operation.
In short, this entry ignores the reality of Archetyp Market and instead tries to romanticize its founder’s dubious motives. It sidesteps the harm these markets cause to users and society, offering no meaningful critique of the founder’s hypocritical claims. This isn’t history; it’s propaganda dressed up as a Wikipedia article.
I would not write any of this crap, regardless of how much I was paid, so I got a kick out of the insulation (that again was baseless and offered no actual proof). The one person who called out Archtyp's scam scavenger hunt, it turns out, is responsible for all the other problems in the world, too, according to YosemiteGhostWrite.
